How to adjust the brakes on your Rollator Walker
One of our most commonly asked questions by customers on our MTC help desk would have to be about how to adjust the brakes on your Rollator or Mobility Walker, particularly after some normal wear and tear? So below we have a set of simple to follow instructions together with images showing just how easy it is to adjust your Rollator/Walkers brakes.
To fix your brakes on your Rollator/Walker is a simple and easy task follow these instructions below and you’ll be good to go.
The first thing to look at is does your Rollator/Walker have exterior fitted cables, in other words is the cable visible and not set inside the Rollators frame. If you have cables on the outside of the frame the first set of instructions are applicable.
We will describe how to adjust interior fitted cables i.e. for Drive Nitro Rollators in the second section below.
The process for adjusting your rollators brakes is actually much the same as adjusting the brake cables on a push bike, if you’ve done that it will be a fairly simple task as a Rollators brakes operate in a very similar fashion.
Fix Brakes – Adjusting Rollator/Walker Brake Cable

With some Rollators such as the Drive Nitro Rollator’s the cables are placed inside the frame therefore adjusting the brakes is slightly different to exterior cables. To adjust you will need two small spanners to loosen the bottom nut, this will allow you make the adjustment by tightening the top nut against the bottom nut once the brakes are to your satisfaction.
With some Rollators such as the Drive Nitro Rollator’s the cables are placed inside the frame therefore adjusting the brakes is slightly different to exterior cables.
